Overview

A 4 week series with Botanical Artist Carol Ann Morley

Enjoy sketching in the garden and capturing the beauty of natural forms. Explore the diversity of plant shapes and learn how to portray their characteristics. Under the guidance of Botanical Artist Carol Ann Morley, learn how to begin a sketch, observe the angles of leaves and petals, and have fun watching your plant portrait come to life. Open to any level of drawing skill, and a great chance to socialize and have fun with other artists.

About the Artist:
A gifted teacher, Carol has taught nature drawing since 1985. She shares her passion for nature and inspires her students in the process with her infectious enthusiasm and artistic talent! Teaching venues include the New York Botanical Garden, the Berkshire Botanical Garden, the Massachusetts Horticultural Botanical Program, the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden, and Sanctuary Arts in Eliot, Maine. Her art work has been shown in National museums. She currently lives and creates art in Kittery, Maine.

ART MATERIAL LIST:

Sketch Book 11X14 or 9X12

Graphite pencils HB, 2B

Pencil sharpener

Pencil eraser

Few colored pencils or watercolors

Light weight folding stool

Bug juice

Water and snacks

Walking shoes: We may be walking a distance to sketch, bring a backpack to easily carry supplies.

You may bring any art supplies you wish - this list is just a suggestion.

Tickets

This program will be taught in four sessions starting June 4 on repeating Wednesdays 10AM - 1PM. with Thursday as a designated rain date. Beginners are encouraged to take all four sessions to benefit from Carol's teaching.

Member Pricing: All 4 sessions for $160 with Member Discount Code.

Non-member Pricing: All 4 sessions for $200. (Or become a member for $45 and receive member pricing! CLICK for membership details)

Participants bring their own drawing materials, sketchbooks, and a bagged lunch to each session.

Please Note Our Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend, please let us know 48 hours in advance of the FIRST class start time in order to receive a refund. Note that Eventbrite Fees are non-refundable.

Weather Related Cancellations: We will assess the weather the morning of the workshop and send a notification to all attendees if extreme or severe weather is forecast. This class has a designated rain date of the next day (Thursday)
