The Southern Passage | A South Indian New Year Supper Club
Four states. Four New Years. One banana leaf feast. Join Chef RK at Tower Tandoori for The Southern Passage Supper Club.
The Southern Passage | A South Indian New Year Supper Club
Across India, the New Year does not arrive on a single day.
It comes in waves — carried by harvests, seasons and traditions that shift from one region to the next. In Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, it arrives with Ugadi. In Tamil Nadu, it is welcomed as Puthandu. In Kerala, it is Vishu — a festival of abundance, where the first sight of the morning sets the intention for the year ahead.
Four states. Four celebrations. Four distinct ways of saying: this is a new beginning.
The Southern Passage brings these moments together at one table.
The Experience
Hosted at Tower Tandoori — London's oldest tandoori restaurant, established in 1978 — this is a supper club unlike anything else in London. There is no à la carte. No menu to choose from. You sit down, and the south comes to you.
Chef Ranjini has designed a 15-dish banana leaf thali feast that moves across the four southern states — from the coconut-rich coastal kitchens of Kerala, through the bold heat of Tamil Nadu's Chettinad tradition, the deep tamarind flavours of Andhra Pradesh, and the warmth and comfort of Karnataka.
This is not a list of dishes. It is a journey through how South India welcomes a new year.
The Menu
A traditional banana leaf feast featuring dishes from all four states:
From the kitchen: Chettinad Chicken · Kerala Meen Pollichathu · Andhra Gongura Mutton Curry · Tomato Pappu · Cabbage & Carrot Thoran · Potato Fry · Mooru Kuzhambu · Mysore Rasam · Pineapple Pachadi · Mango Rice · Idiyappam · Thayir Sadam · Pickle · Papad
To finish: Ada Pradhamam · Mysore Pak · South Indian Filter Kaapi by Vkaapi
Vegetarian alternatives are available, including Gongura Pulusu, Yam Pollichathu and Paruppu Urundai Kuzhambu — please select the vegetarian ticket when booking.
The Drinks
Every ticket includes 2 handcrafted cocktails by Bodha Drinks — thoughtfully created to complement the flavours of the feast, balanced with premium spirits and fresh ingredients.
Throughout the afternoon, unlimited soft drinks are also included.
The meal is rounded off with authentic South Indian filter kaapi by Vkaapi — brought to you by one of the UK's finest South Indian coffee brands.
