2026 Memphis Literacy Conference: Leader Professional Development
Join the Memphis Literacy Institute on September 18th as we learn about designing school-wide systems for literacy success.
About the Session:
Coaching and PLCs are the two of the key enabling systems a school has to improve literacy outcomes, and both depend on leaders who can coach clearly, directly, and with confidence. In this practice-based session, leaders step into the work of direct coaching to strengthen the instructional core across literacy classrooms and PLCs. Using authentic student work and classroom scenarios, participants learn to identify high-leverage instructional needs, name precise teacher moves, and deliver feedback that builds skill and buy-in. Leaders will rehearse coaching conversations, practice anchoring feedback in evidence, and leave with a simple, repeatable coaching cycle that strengthens both PLCs and one-on-one coaching — the systems that ultimately move literacy results.
Audience:
This training is designed for school leaders, instructional leaders and coaches, district-level leaders, state-level leaders, stakeholders or advocates. Please bring members of your team who would like to learn alongside us!
Agenda:
