Overview

Explore Meaningful Themes Through a Blend of Guided Conversation, Embodied Reflection & Curated Literature

This event is part of The Unapologetic Circle series, a monthly gathering that’s facilitated by private transition coach Jenny Calcoen and designed for women in the middle of life who are navigating the profound transition from "performing" a role to living more truly as themselves.

For many high-impact women, midlife brings a quiet, fierce longing for authenticity that their established roles no longer satisfy. However, they often lack a private, safe space to acknowledge this internal shift without fear of public judgment or the pressure to "fix" themselves. The Unapologetic Circle is specifically designed to be a non-performative container. It is a sanctuary for women to set aside their titles and responsibilities, tell the truth about where they are, and meet what’s next with clarity and strength.

Each month, we’ll gather with a specific theme and corresponding book in mind. (Reading each month’s book is not required; the reflections will be accessible and relevant to everyone in the room.)

APRIL 14

Transition often begins with a profound sense of disorientation. While the world rewards having all the answers, we will instead explore the quiet beauty of Unknowing, drawing inspiration from Rebecca Solnit’s “A Field Guide to Getting Lost.”

MAY 12

Listening to your own Desire is a radical act after years of managing everyone else’s comfort. Guided by Ross Gay’s “The Book of Delights,” we’ll practice the micro-skill of noticing what actually brings us joy in the middle of a complex, high-achieving life.

JUNE 09

Arrival is rarely a final destination; it is a deepening sense of internal Sovereignty. Using Jeanette Winterson’s “Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?” as our touchstone, we celebrate the courage required to outgrow external expectations and finally claim a life that is your own.

The Unapologetic Circle is a curated, intentional space held with care. Expect guided presence practices, reflections, and conversations.

This event will be hosted in our third-floor loft space, which is only accessible by stairs. Please plan to arrive at 3:45 p.m. so we all have time to settle in.
