Accessibility in National Parks
Webinar on inclusive trail design, adaptive recreation, accessibility best practices, and partnerships to improve access on public lands.
This webinar brings together National Park Service partner experience and adaptive recreation specialists to share how Grand Teton National Park has approached inclusive trail design, barrier removal, funding stragegies and community partnership. Presenters Quinn Brett, Joe Stone, Ryan Kelly, and Christen Girard — of Dovetail Trail Consulting and the Grand Teton National Park Foundation — walk through real project outcomes. Conversations center around the 'Reimagining Taggart Lake' project and hands-on workshops with trail crews and park staff.
The second half offers a visual overview of the full spectrum of mobility devices in use today, standards for objective trail information, respectful and person-centered messaging, and best practice for working alongside adaptive recreation communities to improve access across public lands.
There will be time for questions and discussion after the presentation.
