Inside the Hive: A Beekeeping Experience at Fox Point Farms

Inside the Hive: A Beekeeping Experience at Fox Point Farms

Overview

Get up close with buzzing bees and learn the sweet secrets of beekeeping in this hands-on farm adventure.

Step into the fascinating world of Fox Point Farms honeybees with Bee Leaf USA beekeepers right here on the farm, starting Saturday and Sunday, April 4th & 5th.

This immersive, behind-the-scenes experience begins with a short guided overview covering the fundamentals of honeybee life, colony structure, and the role bees play in regenerative farming. You’ll gain a strong foundation (and peace of mind) before heading out to the hives.

Guests will then suit up in protective beekeeping veils and gloves before inspecting a live hive with the beekeeper. During the inspection, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• Spot the queen bee
• Observe honey production in real time
• Identify worker, drone, and queen roles
• See the honeybee life cycle up close
• Ask questions as the experience unfolds
• Take photos in protective gear with the hives

We’ll close with a 10–15 minute Q&A to answer common bee curiosities and decompress after the hive visit.

What You’ll Learn
• The roles of bees in a colony (Queen, Worker, Drone)
• How honey is produced
• The honeybee life cycle
• The importance of pollinators in sustainable agriculture
• How local farms responsibly steward their hives

Event Details
