<p><strong><strong>About your HOST Candice Shaughnessy:</strong></strong></p><p><strong><strong>Candice Shaughnessy (</strong></strong><strong><strong>she/her) is a New York based voice teacher and vocal performer. Her </strong></strong><strong><strong>performance experience spans many genres including opera, choral music, new music, and musical </strong></strong><strong><strong>theater. She has performed on stages in the United States, Canada, and Italy.</strong></strong></p><h4>Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Candice holds a Bachelor of Music in Education from Seton Hill University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Duquesne University.</h4><h4>As a voice teacher, Candice specializes in applying scientific ideas in vocal pedagogy to real life use for professional singers. She has studied vocal health as well as classical vocal technique. She is currently working towards her full certification in Meisner in Music. In addition, Candice is trained in adjacentphilosophies such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Teaching English as a Second Language.</h4><h4>One of her other passions is educating singers on sound business practices so they can lead successful and sustainable lives in the arts. She has been teaching the Business of the Performer class at American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York since 2019.</h4><h4>Currently, Candice serves on the voice and business of the performer faculties at American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and performs as a professional core soprano in the Rutgers Presbyterian Church choir in the Upper West Side.</h4>
