The SCHF, a non-profit organization, maintains the Southern Cultural Heritage Center in Vicksburg, MS. The Center is a Mississippi Landmark property and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is formerly the St. Francis Xavier Convent and Academy and is one of the most architecturally and historically significant city blocks in downtown. The Foundation is committed to preserving the history and architecture of the Cultural Center, while offering cultural, artistic and educational programs for the community.Your support of the Foundation helps with the restoration of the five buildings in the historic complex and the continuation of a rich tradition in arts and cultural education. It’s never too late to start making cool stuff and having fun with your creativity.

The Southern Cultural Heritage Center presents “Never Too Late to Create” with Karen Biedenharn on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 5:30pm. This will be an acrylics class and will be held in the SCHC Academy building. The fee is $35/person, but only $30/SCHF Members and includes all supplies.Karen says, “We will work on an acrylic garden scene, a study in contrast, learning how to hide or emphasize certain elements!”Space is limited and reservations are required.
