ABOUT CARLOS REYES
Santana meets the Gipsy Kings
Born in Paraguay and performing publicly since the age of five, Carlos Reyes has spent a lifetime redefining what the Paraguayan harp and violin can do. A child prodigy who began studying violin at three, he soon took up the traditional 36-string Paraguayan harp, turning an early challenge from his father into a lifelong musical path.
By his teens, Carlos had already debuted with the Oakland Symphony and Oakland Youth Symphony and was working in professional recording studios. He went on to build an international career as a recording artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.
His debut album The Beauty of It All spent more than 15 weeks in Billboard’s Top Ten Contemporary Jazz charts, launching a career that has taken him across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Along the way he has performed and recorded with artists including Steve Miller, Willie Nelson, Chuck Mangione, and The Doobie Brothers.
Blending Latin, jazz, rock, and classical influences, Carlos brings a bold and innovative voice to the harp, expanding the instrument’s possibilities both acoustically and electronically. Whether performing solo or with a full ensemble, his performances combine virtuosity, passion, and a deeply expressive musical spirit.
