Create a craft for local seniors living at National Church Residences.
Who this Anywhere Project is for:
Ages 4 -12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org.
What you'll be doing:
Help us bring smiles to seniors! Children will explore why seniors can experience loneliness through an empathy building excercise. Then helping hands will spread smiles by creating a colorful craft for seniors living at National Church Residences.
Have a large group that's short on time? Use the self-guided tabletop resource included in your service packet.
When you'll be doing it:
This Anywhere Project can be done at home, camp, or wherever you are!
This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate anytime until the project ends on July 31st. Donations may be mailed or dropped to the Seeds of Caring office from May 1-July 31st . Drop off address and instructions will be provided in your service packet.
How it all works:
Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. The meaning-making:
Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you'll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project's guided discussion focuses on senior empathy.
Approximate Cost:
Free. Use craft supplies on-hand.
Why you'll be invited to donate:
Every time we're able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it's with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.
This service opportunity is made possible through the generous support of The Center for HumanKindness and The Walter Foundation.
