Lessons from Italy and Spain

After a year sabbatical studying gastronomy in Italy and working in Spain, Brian will share some of the biggest things he learned.

This past year Brian did something amazing -- he stepped away from Kakao, his business and livelihood for 17 years -- for a year and went to live in Italy, studying at the University of Gastronomic Sciences. He then moved to Barcelona to work for a sustainable seafood tourism business for the summer.

You'll learn how Brian arranged with his Kakao team to take a year-long sabbatical, and moved to a small flat in a small village in Northern Italy to immerse himself in school. He'll share some of what he learned, and show you where he visited in Italy and around Europe. You'll hear how he created an amazing internship opportunity in Barcelona, and you'll even see the cats he lived with there.
