NE 250- Threads of History - Historical Society of Frankford

Art and History event our nation's Semiquincentennial highlighting history in Northeast Phillly and creating a series of flags.

Join us at the Historical Society of Frankford for 2 hours of history and artmaking.

This project, part of the City's Semiquincentennial celebrations, shines a spotlight on the history of Northeast Philadelphia and the many small organizations that keep that history alive.Artmaking activities at each event will engage communities with the idea of individual expression in flags and and also have an opportunity to create a project to keep.
This event at the Historical Society of Frankford will feature an exhibit of artifacts related to Betsy Ross as well as a short presentation. Artist Zoey Storck will teach a traditional paper quilling craft for take and each participant will be asked to decorate a fabric patch to be incorporated into our NE: 250 Flags.
