Grade K-5 | Tuesday | April 28 | 4:00-5:00 PM CT | Zoom Webinar | FREE to MN ParticipantsThis interactive workshop is designed for K–5 educators who want to introduce students to the fundamentals of budgeting and financial decision-making in engaging and age-appropriate ways. Using the children’s books Budget for Bingo, The Things I Wish I Knew, and I Am Money, participants will explore how literature can be used to teach key financial concepts in the elementary classroom.The session focuses on the four key parts of money management: earning, saving, spending, and giving. Educators will learn strategies for helping students understand how money is earned, why saving for goals (like a pet or special item) matters, and how to make thoughtful spending choices. The workshop also highlights the importance of giving, encouraging students to think about how money can be used to help others and support their communities.Teachers will walk away with practical ideas, classroom activities, and discussion strategies that help students understand what money is, how it moves through everyday life, and how they can begin practicing positive financial habits early.
