Wizard Robot brings a fresh, contemporary twist to popular songs and jazz standards—reinterpreting them with a spirit of experimentation.

Led by <a href="https://insidesacramento.com/all-that-jazz/" title="https://insidesacramento.com/all-that-jazz/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Daniel J Owens</a> (piano), founder of the <a href="https://centermusicalarts.com/" title="https://centermusicalarts.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Center for Musical Arts</a> in Sacramento, Wizard Robot features <a href="https://www.instagram.com/premiumjaq/" title="https://www.instagram.com/premiumjaq/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jackson Riley</a> on saxophone, <a href="https://www.natefurgasonbass.com/" title="https://www.natefurgasonbass.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nate</a> <a href="https://www.natefurgasonbass.com/" title="https://www.natefurgasonbass.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Furgason</a> on bass and <a href="https://scottgordondrums.com/" title="https://scottgordondrums.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Scott Gordon</a> on drums. Inspired by both contemporary and classic tunes, the quartet aims to blur the lines between some of the most recognizable pop songs and legendary jazz standards. The results have engaged both new listeners and jazz fans alike.The group has performed for audiences in venues such as The California Jazz Conservatory, Yoshi’s Oakland, Somethin, The Bitter End and Pianos in New York City, and various jazz festivals including the Monterey Jazz Fest.With a residency at the Center announced, you'll be able to enjoy Wizard Robot at the end of every month. At the CenterThe Center for Musical Arts proudly presents our "At the Center" concert series, where our goal is to give Sacramento musicians the event space they deserve. Music school by day, concert venue by night—our listening room features a stage, baby grand piano, and an intimate 30-seat capacity.
