Level 2 - Stone Carving a Heart

In this class, you will use lapidary grinding wheels, a flex shaft rotary tool, and diamond carving bits to carve a heart shape from a rock.

PREREQUISITE: Must have taken Beginning Lapidary - Cabochon Cutting

In this class, you will use lapidary grinding wheels, a flex shaft rotary tool, and diamond carving bits to carve a heart shape from a rock. You will then wet polish the rock using resin tips on the flex shaft until you get a nice shine. The focus is on tool control, safety, shaping, and polishing. Materials and rocks are provided.

You will learn:

Safely operate a lapidary wheel.
Safely operate a flex shaft.
Cut out and refine a heart shape in stone.

Yes. You will be working with loud equipment (earplugs are provided).
