A trumpeter, producer, and composer who studied under legendary jazz theorist George Russell, Nakamura moved to New York in the early ’90s and quickly became a fixture in the city’s vibrant jazz and jungle scenes. Over the years, he has collaborated with iconic artists such as Quincy Jones, David Byrne, and Arto Lindsay, while performing with cult groups including Jojo Mayer’s Nerve and Cocorosie.
Blending deep jazz roots with forward-thinking electronic production, Takuya Nakamura continues to push boundaries across genres, delivering immersive performances that bridge improvisation, rhythm, and club culture.
