Container Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop; Small is Beautiful!

78th Street Heritage FarmVancouver, WA
Saturday, Mar 28 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm
Overview

Learn to grow your own juicy peaches with techniques to minimize rain-spread disease.

Western Washington is not conducive to growing stone fruits like peaches and apricots because they suffer from rain-spread diseases. However, growing them in containers that can be covered during the rainy season solves this problem! This workshop provides directions for successfully growing stone fruits such as peaches, nectarines and apricot trees. Topics will include appropriate containers and soil mixes, pruning for container growing, and ideas for keeping the trees dry through the winter and spring. Each participant will graft and take home their own stone fruit (peach, nectarine, apricot, etc.) tree.
