Learning Station @ The Ideation Station

Tri-C Metropolitan Campus is home to the Ideation Station - a fab lab located in the Manufacturing Technology Center.

The Ideation Station is a creative space where students, employers, and the community-at-large has access to the latest technology including laser engravers, 3D printers, vinyl cutters and much more.

If you are interested in using the fab lab but have never used a 3D printer, vinyl cutter, laser engraver or any of the fab lab equipment we offer a variety of introductory classes through our Learning Station series. These classes will help you learn how to use the latest fab lab technology and related software to create your own designs.

WORKSHOPS

A Day In The Life of An Architect
Ages 13 -18

Curious how buildings, neighborhoods, and cities come to life? Step inside the world of architecture for a full-access experience built just for rising architects and designers. Spend the day with real architects — from college students to firm owners — and discover what it takes to design the future. Learn about education pathways, the professional track and how to become a licensed architect who shapes the world we live in.

Also, you will get hands-on experience in Tri-C's Ideation Station, a state-of-the-art fabrication lab, to create a project using design tools and equipment. This is your chance to explore the field, ask questions, and see where your imagination can take you. Lunch will be provided to participants.

Laser Engraving
Ages 16 and up

Learning Station introductory laser engraving workshop for those interested in learning how to engrave using Corel Draw. The Learning Station laser engraver workshop will teach you how to make a simple sign design using Corel Draw and the laser engraver.

We offer three different engraving classes: Teacup and box, tumbler and charcuterie board.

NOTE: Ages 11-15 can take the class but must be accompanied by an adult.
