When: Saturdays: April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 19, and October 10, 2026

Where: The daytrip begins at 8:45 am at the historic Salyer House, 213 Blue Hill Road, Pearl River, NY 10965, and concludes there at 3:30 pm

Price: HSRC Members, $99 per person; Nonmembers, $119 per person (Includes all admissions, tour fees, tips, and lunch at the legendary Old '76 House in Tappan)

On September 22, 1780, General Benedict Arnold and British Major John André met along the Hudson River to plot the surrender of West Point, an act of treason that forever changed American history. Join the Historical Society of Rockland County for a captivating day trip that brings this story to life at the very places where it unfolded.

A Walk Through Rockland County History

Travel by motorcoach and on foot as expert guides lead you through historic sites tied to espionage, intrigue, and betrayal, including the meeting site, André’s trial location, and the place of his execution. Along the way, you’ll gain vivid insight into the people, places, and decisions that shaped the nation’s future.

The daytrip begins at 8:45 am at the Orangetown Historical Museum & Archives' historic Salyer House and concludes there at 3:30 pm.

Highlights include:

  • Guided tour of the Orangetown Museum’s exhibition: “A Spy in Our Midst”
  • Guided walk in Dutchtown, near the André–Arnold meeting site
  • Exploration of Revolutionary War landmarks in Tappan, including the DeWint House
  • Luncheon at the legendary Old ’76 House

This immersive experience combines storytelling, scenic walks, and meaningful conversation— perfect for history enthusiasts and curious explorers alike.

Cancellation Policy: Bus seating is strictly limited. The trip price can be refunded only if your space can be filled by another guest prior to the event. A waiting list will be compiled, and available spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Only those who have made full payment can be accommodated. If the event is canceled by the HSRC, ticket prices will be fully refunded.
