Learn to play American Mahjong at Greentail Table in Newton, MA, in this two-week beginner series, following the official National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules. There will be time to also enjoy after hours shopping at Greentail Table.

This series is perfect for brand-new players or anyone looking for a confident refresher. No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity and get ready for a fun, social game!

There will be time for shopping and socializing at Greentail Table at the beginning and end of the class.

We are Beverly and Emily, a mother-daughter duo and experienced Canasta and American Mah Jongg instructors. We’ve taught hundreds of students and are passionate about making these games accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Beverly is a retired teacher, principal, and special education administrator. Emily is a high school special education teacher. Our professional backgrounds in teaching, learning, and curriculum development allow us to break down mahjong in a friendly, approachable way.
