Blackout Poetry & Art of Erasure

Overview

Join us in turning old pages into poems and unleash your creativity in this library workshop!

Erasure, blackout, and redacted poetry are distinct forms of "found poetry." In these styles, poets take an existing text and erase, black out, or obscure a significant portion of it, creating a completely new work from what remains. Join us in this hands-on workshop with MFA student Evan Wambeke, UM librarians Lily De La Fuente and Elida Velado Salazar.

All necessary supplies will be provided!
