How are the two classes different?

6:30 dance class is a warm-up and refresher class. We review cookout classics, like the wobble, flex, as well as some simple newer ones. We end up doing 4-6 different songs. 7:30 class we learn new line dances made popular on social media. These have more  complicated step sequences.

Desiree Williams is a local dance instructor who teaches hip hop, afro beats, and African dance fitness classes in the Beaverton area. You can follow her on IG at dwrdance.

How often are classes?

Classes are held twice a month on Fridays. We post new classes at the beginning of the month.

What do I wear?

It's a workout! Bring a water bottle, a towel, and make sure to wear comfortable shoes, since you will be on your feet. You are welcome to wear your boots as well. Just make sure you can dance in them continuously without your feet hurting.

I've never lined dance before...is this hard?

Line dancing is a great low-impact workout. We take it slow and review a lot so that everyone can get used to the movement. The second class will move quicker than the first.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes, the 6:30 beginners class is all ages. If they want to dance and can focus to learn the steps, bring them! We recommend the 7:30 class for high school students and adults. Please note childcare is not provided.
