The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance's mission is to serve as a positive voice for mountain biking in Boulder County, Colorado by improving the trail experience for all users through social rides and events, advocacy, and trail building. Valmont Bike Park

WHO THIS CLINIC IS FORYou are new to cycling or mountain biking. You haven't done much riding on singletrack trails and may still have questions about shifting, braking and basic bike handling.DESCRIPTIONWe’ll move through the skills you need to get started and apply them on beginner features at Valmont. This is an introductory class at the novice level.WHAT YOU’LL LEARN<ul><li>Brake properly.</li><li>Shift to the correct gear.</li><li>Ride with balance and body-bike separation.</li><li>Climb and descend on trails.</li><li>Steer and corner.</li><li>Performing basic front wheel lifts.</li><li>Roll down small drops.</li></ul>Maximum 6 students. No matter how you ride your bike, you're about to ride it better!Clinics meet on the east side of Valmont Bike Park near the pavilion next to the dog park.Start Time: 5:30 pm (please be there at 5:15 pm to allow ample prep time)COSTWe love to ride and we know that you do too so we try to keep our expenses low and then pass that savings onto our members. Our goal is to make our clinics accessible to everyone and to grow Boulder's awesome cycling community. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who remains present and responsible for the minor at all times. Drop-offs are not permitted.If a rider sustains a head impact or is suspected of a concussion, they will be removed from riding for the remainder of the clinic.For permitting, planning, and payment purposes, you must sign up if you plan to join us.BMA has a 24-hour cancellation policy.
