The Boulder Mountainbike Alliance's mission is to serve as a positive voice for mountain biking in Boulder County, Colorado by improving the trail experience for all users through social rides and events, advocacy, and trail building. WHO THIS CLINIC IS FORYou’ve been mountain biking long enough to be comfortable on singletrack trails. You know how to shift and brake and are comfortable at a trail area like Betasso. You’ve either never taken a skills clinic or want a refresher. While this is not a sequel to the Beginner clinic, it would be appropriate to take this class if you’ve taken Beginner and want to re-enforce and refine the same skills.DESCRIPTIONThis clinic covers the same fundamental mountain bike skills as MTB Foundations: Beginner but is tailored for intermediate riders. We’ll move through skills at a faster pace and practice on bigger obstacles and features.WHAT YOU’LL LEARN<ul><li>Ride with balance and body-bike separation</li><li>Brake effectively and clear obstacles</li><li>Roll down drops of about a foot and hone other trail skills</li><li>Approach small jumps and drops</li><li>Corner and ride berms</li><li>Perform basic wheel lift techniques</li></ul>This is an intermediate class.Maximum 6 students. No matter how you ride your bike, you're about to ride it better!Clinics meet on the east side of Valmont Bike Park near the pavilion next to the dog park.Start Time: 5:30 pm (please be there at 5:15 pm to allow ample prep time)COSTWe love to ride and we know that you do too so we try to keep our expenses low and then pass that savings onto our members. Our goal is to make our clinics accessible to everyone and to grow Boulder's awesome cycling community. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who remains present and responsible for the minor at all times. Drop-offs are not permitted.If a rider sustains a head impact or is suspected of a concussion, they will be removed from riding for the remainder of the clinic.For permitting, planning, and payment purposes, you must sign up if you plan to join us.BMA has a 24-hour cancellation policy.
