The Linda Ransom Quartet
World-class jazz, soul & R&B with Connecticut’s own Linda Ransom Quartet — live, intimate & unforgettable at The River Room.
The Linda Ransom Quartet Live at The River Room
Friday, March 27th
Doors 6:30 PM | Show 7:30 PM
The River Room is thrilled to welcome Connecticut’s own jazz/soul/R&B powerhouse, Linda Ransom, for an unforgettable evening of world-class vocals and timeless song.
Originally from New London and now based in Hartford, Linda has spent decades performing alongside some of the finest musicians in Connecticut and beyond. Her career has taken her across the United States and internationally to London, Paris, and Japan — and into legendary jazz rooms like Minton’s and Smoke in New York City. Along the way, she has recorded and performed with renowned artists including Marion Meadows, Ed Cherry, Larry Willis, Johnny O’Neal, Steve Davis, and Dezron Douglas.
Linda’s voice — warm as butter and rich with feeling — carries the elegance and soul of the great jazz vocalists who paved the way. When she sings a standard, echoes of Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dinah Washington shimmer through her phrasing. Yet she moves just as effortlessly into R&B, pouring heart and depth into songs made famous by icons like Gladys Knight and Whitney Houston.
Joining Linda for this special River Room performance will be her quartet — full of extraordinary musicians in their own right. Together, they create a sound far greater than the sum of its parts, blending lush harmonies, impeccable musicianship, and dynamic interplay that fills the room with warmth and swing!
With new recordings on the horizon — including Ransom's Latin jazz release and her highly anticipated project Ransom and Friends…Finally — Linda Ransom continues to evolve while honoring the great tradition of jazz vocal artistry.
On Friday, March 27th, experience an evening of soul, swing, and sophistication with The Linda Ransom Quartet — live and up close at The River Room!
