If you are new to curling, we invite you to participate in our multi-session New Curler Clinic with other new curlers. The New Curler Clinic is a great way to learn the sport, with personalized instruction, in a supportive and non-intimidating atmosphere.
The 2026 clinic will be held over four weekends.
Saturday Sessions - October 24, October 31, November 7, November 21, 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
One registration covers attendance for all four weekends.
The cost to attend the New Curler Clinic is $180/person and must be paid at registration. After completing the New Curler Clinic, you can apply to become a member at Mayfield Curling Club. You will then be able to sign up for draws in the second event. It is recommended that you attend three of the four sessions to sign up for the third event as a member of the curling club.
Those joining after participating in the NCCs are eligible for a 20% discount off dues for the remainder of the 2026-2027 season, a 20% discount off dues for the 2027-2028 season, and a onetime $50 credit towards curling shoes from the MCC Pro Shop. We will also have a Welcome New Curlers event on Saturday, December 5 from 2:30 PM-4:30 PM.

Attire and Equipment
Please bring (CARRY IN, DO NOT WEAR) a pair of clean rubber soled tennis or athletic shoes separate from the shoes that you wear outside. This is to avoid tracking anything on the ice. Do not bring EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) soled shoes, as they do not provide much traction on the ice. EVA soled shoes are generally all white and do not have a separate tread from the midsole, feel smooth and foamy to the touch, and do not feel like rubber soles. Curling attire should be comfortable and practical for the sport. Suggested attire includes pants you are comfortable performing a lunge in and turtlenecks, fleeces, vests, jackets, hats, and gloves. We suggest that you dress in layers so that you can remove one or more layers as you warm up. The temperature on the ice is usually around 40 degrees.
Club step-on sliders, brooms, and stabilizers are available for use.
