Making Medicine from Mountains

Learn to craft tinctures, salves & teas with Sierra Nevada herbs—exploring plant energetics, extraction & responsible medicine making.

This hands-on workshop explores the foundations of medicine making using locally wildcrafted plants from the Sierra Nevada, alongside select Western and Chinese herbs. Together we’ll learn how to prepare simple, effective remedies including bitters, tinctures, topical salves, and tea blending—while discussing plant energetics, extraction methods, and responsible use. In addition to practical skills and recipes, each participant will take home a self prepared tincture remedy and a collaboratively made botanical chapstick.
