Overview

Craft infused spirits, vermouth, bitters & syrups with Tahoe botanicals—exploring folklore, flavor, and the art of herbal mixology.

Ages 21+

Led by Naturalist/Ethnobotanist/Chocolate Maker Brian Wallace, this experiential workshop explores the rich intersection of plants, folklore, and spirits. Participants will learn to craft infused spirits, fortified botanical wines such as vermouth, cocktail bitters, and herbal simple syrups using locally sourced botanicals from the Lake Tahoe basin. The class will also introduce foundational mixology techniques and demonstrate a handful of botanically forward cocktails featuring ingredients such as absinthe and other herbal liqueurs.

Along the way, we’ll explore the cultural history of herbal spirits—from medicinal tonics to celebratory elixirs—and how plants have shaped both tradition and taste. In this class we will learn how to develop a relationship with the land through tasting it, growing reverence for the roots and trees with every sip.

$20 Materials Fee.
