Youth in Government:Youth in Government are a space rock group hailing from the DC Metro that meld the psychedelic sounds of 70s space rock with shoegaze and post-rock. They are celebrating the release of their debut album, Silhouettes, out on the first of May. Youth in Government are Chris Mathews-Larsen on guitar/vocals and Trae Tomko on drums/vocals/sampler, who both played and co-produced the entirety of the album. They will be joined by album collaborator Jamie Darken (Sutras, Apollonia Thunderbolt) on bass, and David Barker (The Mantis, Ice Out) on lead guitar Blood Family Reunion:Washington, DC dream pop band, Blood Family Reunion, makes joyful music for lost souls and broken vessels.  A shiny thing in the dirty sand.  Somber swells and lyrical riffs from Joe Kin’s guitars overlay Steph Lilly’s driving bass melodies and Donovan Lessard’s foundational beats, glimmering crashes.  Pam Carder sings about tragedies, family legends, and time travel King of the Moon:King of the Moon is the mummified corpse of Merlin the Wizard reanimated by a local puppetress and torn asunder into two functional musicians by a now-defunct claymation studio’s design team.
