Learn all about birds at this fun and faith-filled day camp for kids aged 5-12!
Have tons of fun at our jam-packed, fun and faith-filled day camps! Explore the property with time for discovery, games, crafts, ecology programming, visiting the animals, prayer, and more!
The Catholic Ecology Center sits on nearly 60 acres, part of a 225-acre preserve complex, of diverse habitats including prairies, forests, the Rubicon River, Otter Creek, a pond, and organic gardening areas.
Explorer Day Camps are for kids ages 5-12 years old. Camps run from 9:30am-2:30pm.
Tuesday, June 30th: Flying Feathered Friends
Explore the fascinating and beautiful world of birds! From giant ostriches to tiny hummingbirds, get to know the different groups of birds and what makes them each unique. Learn about the amazing adaptations that help birds fly and make your own flying contraption. Meet some of the birds on our property including our Saw-whet owl Sophia!
Watch the skies and listen for songs as we learn how to use binoculars and guides to spot and recognize our amazing native birds. Learn about the life of the incredible patron saint of flight, who received the incredible miracle of levitation, Saint Joseph of Cupertino!
**Important Notes:
New this year: you may request up to two campers to be in a group with. We will do our best to honor these requests. Please note that requests are not guaranteed.
Discounted "Early Bird" registration available through March 31st.
Those with an active CEC Family Membership are eligible for even greater discounts! To become a member, click HERE.
There are a limited number of free Teen Helper spots for kids ages 13-17 years old who would like to help with a group for the day. Please select Teen Helper tickets as an "Add On" item.
All campers need to come with water bottles and lunches.
Online registration only. Ticket sales close at 3pm the day before the camp.
Refunds not available within two weeks of the camp date.
