Overview

Join a guided hike to explore the Rocky Water Path Trail and celebrate its new life as a Certified Forest Therapy Trail.

Forest Therapy (sometimes known as Forest Bathing or Shinrin-Yoku) broadly means taking in the forest atmosphere with all of one's senses. Not simply a walk in the woods; it is the conscious and contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest. During your walk, Aimee Vandemark will guide you through invitations to awaken your senses, slow down, be present, and reconnect with the nature and rhythm of your surroundings.

Meet at the pavilion beside the parking lot. This hike will take approximately two hours (sometimes less, sometimes more). Please feel free to bring water and snacks. Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and shoes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome as long as they are under your control and on a 6-foot leash. Restrooms are available on-site.

The address is 4214 Highland Farm Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278.

From Hillsborough take Hwy 86 North away from town 1.6 miles from US70. Turn left on Coleman Loop 1.1 miles. Turn left on Highland Farm Rd 2.4 miles. The Confluence is on the left.
