SpeakOUT's Spring 2026 Speaker Training
SpeakOUT's Speaker Training will prepare you to share your LGBTQ+ story to raise awareness with a variety of audiences.
Everyone Has a Story. Become a Voice for Change!
SpeakOUT’s all-day training at Suffolk University is an empowering experience within a queer-supportive atmosphere to prepare you to share your personal story with others. With the queer community under attack across this country, SpeakOUT continues its 50+ year legacy of raising awareness about LGBTQ+ lives to create safer and more inclusive spaces.
The one-day speaker training prepares volunteer speakers to conduct interactive speaking engagements in schools, colleges, workplaces, faith communities, and more in the Greater Boston area & beyond. You'll learn how to craft an effective story and answer difficult questions while promoting a dialogue with your audience. We particularly invite BIPOC, transgender and nonbinary people, and others who represent communities not always heard from to join us. The training is also open to those who just want to improve their public speaking skills.
Along with a training manual, a light breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided. Cost: $75 standard; $35 for seniors/students. Inquire about group rates and scholarships. Don’t let the cost keep you from participating. Email us at info@speakoutboston.org to inquire. You must pre-register to receive information before the training.
