Beyond the Award: Compliance Systems Every SBIR & STTR Startup Needs

Winning an SBIR or STTR award is a major milestone — but it’s only the beginning. Federal R&D funding comes with compliance obligations that many startups underestimate. Without strong internal controls, even high-performing research teams can put current and future funding at risk.

This practical, founder-friendly session translates federal compliance requirements into clear, implementable systems tailored specifically for SBIR and STTR awardees. Designed for small businesses, Principal Investigators, and research partners navigating federal funding for the first time, this workshop focuses on protecting innovation while maintaining audit readiness.

Participants will gain clarity on how 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) applies to startups and how to implement right-sized internal controls that support compliance.
