Australian Heritage Festival: Old Hawkesbury Hospital Mortuary Site Tours

Join us to explore the history of the Old Hawkesbury Hospital site, including access to the historic mortuary.

Join us to explore the history of the Old Hawkesbury Hospital site, from its origins as a convict barracks in 1820 to the modern public art on display today. You will also have the opportunity to enter the old mortuary or Dead House.

Please note, this event takes place at the Deerubbin Centre, not the Museum. Please meet your guide outside the Hawkesbury Regional Library located at the Deerubbin Centre (300 George St, Windsor) 10 minutes prior to your tour time.

One section of the tour includes uneven surfaces, including gravel and grass.

• You acknowledge, accept and understand that your participation in the guided tour is at your own risk. You acknowledge, accept and understand that Council shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, harm, cost or expense that you may incur or suffer arising out of your participation in the guided tour, other than for matters of which Council cannot legally exclude.
• SMILE! Museum events may be photographed, and images used for promotional purposes on Council's websites, publications, social media or by newspapers. If you do not wish your image (or the image of your child) to be published, please notify staff before the event.

Cancellation/refund polices paid tickets

• To receive a full refund (minus an admin fee), please cancel your ticket or notify us a minimum of 48 hours before the scheduled event. If less notice is given, a refund will not be issued.
• Refunds will not be given if participants change their mind, or simply forget to attend the event. For exceptional circumstances, refunds may be issued at the discretion of the Director.
• A refund can take up to 7 working days to process after the event date (due to bank transfer times). Cash payment refunds can take up to 6 weeks to process.

• If you are unable to attend, please cancel your tickets as soon as possible. This will enable others to participate in the program.
• Do not attend the event if you are feeling unwell.
• Paid tickets are not transferable.
