Beginning April 18th, 1775, with the battles of Lexington and Concord, the program will provide context about the taxation on tea and just why the Colonists were upset with the status quo over 250 years ago. Following the tea service, participants will be able to explore “Founding Fortunes,” a special exhibit for the America 250 celebration.

Check In at the Visitor Center
Check-in begins at 1:55 PM for the program. This will be held at the Visitor Center (1644 31st NW).

Tour of Historic House & Exhibit
The guided tour will be of the exhibit Founding Fortunes: The Estate Sale of Martha Washington and other areas of the historic house.

Tea at Dower House
The last hour of the program will take place in our Dower House building. This is where the program will end and participants will exit from here (1670 31st NW).
