Calibrating How We Lead in Complex Times

Calibrating How We Lead in Complex Times

Online event
Wednesday, Apr 29 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm PDT
Overview

Join us online to learn a practical system for adjusting your impact in real time

Leadership often becomes difficult not because leaders lack skill, but because pressure disrupts calibration. When tension rises in meetings or decisions need to move quickly, leaders often default in one of two directions: softening authority to preserve relationships, or tightening control to maintain momentum. Both can unintentionally erode trust. This workshop introduces the second dial in the Leadership Dials© calibration system, a practical framework that helps leaders notice these shifts and adjust their leadership in real time.

Rather than offering communication scripts or personality insights, Leadership Dials focuses on calibration under pressure. Participants explore the leadership tension between care and authority and learn how to maintain both simultaneously. Through a clear leadership map, a common miscalibration example, and a live application exercise, leaders leave with a small but powerful adjustment they can immediately apply in meetings, conversations, and moments when the room starts to tighten.

Outcomes

Participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize when they are overusing either connection or authority in moments of tension
  • Maintain leadership presence while supporting relationship and trust
  • Reduce reactive responses and move teams toward faster alignment

Who This Is For

This program is designed for leaders who:

  • Manage people or teams
  • Navigate complex organizational dynamics
  • Want to build trust across difference
  • Are responsible for decisions that affect multiple stakeholders

It is particularly valuable for leaders working in:

  • organizations and institutions prioritizing inclusive leadership
  • nonprofit and public sector environments
