Художник Виталий Комар половину жизни провел в СССР и почти столько же – в Америке. Что такое соц-арт сегодня, через 50 лет после того, как появился этот термин? Возможно ли рождение новой волны соц-арта? Творчество Виталия Комара было как индивидуальным, так и коллективным. Он создавал свои работы совместно с Александром Меламидом, но что произошло, когда арт-группа распалась? Кстати, кроме Александра Меламида, Комар работал с композитором Дэйвом Солдьером, флюксус-музыкантом Шарлоттой Мурман, самим Энди Уорхолом, а также с шимпанзе Микки и слонихой Рене. Who Invented Sots Art – and Why?Vitaly Komar is an artist and the founder of Sots Art. His works are held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Artist Vitaly Komar spent half of his life in the USSR and nearly as much in America. What is Sots Art today, fifty years after the term first appeared? Is a new wave of Sots Art possible? Vitaly Komar’s творчество was both individual and collective. He created works together with Alexander Melamid – but what happened when the art group dissolved? Besides Alexander Melamid, Komar collaborated with composer Dave Soldier, Fluxus musician Charlotte Moorman, Andy Warhol himself, as well as with a chimpanzee named Mickey and an elephant named Renee. His most recent works are created in collaboration with AI.
