Now that we have survived the Blizzard of '26, it might be a good time to recall the devastating Blizzard of '78, which dumped a then-record 27 inches of snow in greater Boston, and an incredible 40 inches in parts of the South Shore. Much of the region was paralyzed for the better part of a week. In this presentation, we will tell the story of the blizzard that remains, for anyone who lived through it, the measuring stick for all subsequent winter storms
