Learn practical knife skills designed for real-world self-defense.

This Knife Tactics 101 introductory course is perfect for qualified civilians with zero experience in knife training or self-defense. You’ll learn how to confidently carry, deploy, and use a tactical folding knife for personal protection through a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on training.

⚔️ This is the civilian version of our law enforcement/military edged weapons program.

What You’ll Learn

• Knife laws & legal considerations in NY
• Choosing the right knife for self-defense
• Drawing from concealment under pressure
• Basic grips, stances, and carry positions
• Defensive techniques: parry, block, counter
• Target areas (lethal & non-lethal)
• Knife disarming & close-quarters drills
• How to respond when attacked—armed or unarmed

No live blades will be used. All equipment is provided.

• $50 deposit to register & $100 cash only due on day of class
• 👖 Attire: Cargo pants or jeans, sturdy belt, sneakers
• 🪪 Must be: 18+, U.S. citizen or green card holder, no felonies, not on antidepressants
• 🎓 Pre-requisite to our Advanced Edged Weapon Courses
