Overview

This will be an all-day event, packed with research presentations, poster sessions, a keynote address, and plenty of opportunity to network.

We are pleased to announce that the 2026 Microbiome Symposium will take place on Monday, May 4th, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, located at 15 T.W. Alexander Drive, Durham, NC.

We have a truly exciting day of presentations planned, including keynote speaker Lakshmi Goyal, Founding Editor in Chief of the Journal Cell Host and Microbe.

The symposium will also feature poster sessions, networking time for trainees, keynote speakers, and companies. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. This will be a great opportunity for researchers to reconnect with fellow academia and industry scientists.

All attendees must register and purchase a ticket by April 28, 2026. If you would like to present a poster please submit an abstract by April 3, 2026. Space is limited so we recommend registering and submitting your abstract as soon as possible!


Ticket Pricing:

Not a PI or Senior Scientist (including undergrad, grad, and postdoc at trainee) - $40

PI/Senior Scientist/Industry - $100

Poster Session Guidelines

Trainee poster submissions will be accepted for this symposium. Anyone wishing to participate in the poster session must submit a title and abstract in PDF format by Tuesday, April 3rd to Hannah Cole . Abstracts should be 250 words or less.

Posters must be microbiome-related and no larger than 4 feet by 4 feet. Mounting materials will be provided. Please contact us directly with any questions about eligibility.
