Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this class is designed to teach you the fundamentals of this beloved game. In this hands-on session, you’ll learn the basics of gameplay, including the rules, the tiles, and the strategies that make Mahjong both challenging and exciting.

Throughout the class, we’ll guide you step-by-step as you:

• Learn the Tile Basics: Understand the different suits, honor tiles, and special hands.
• Master the Rules: Grasp the flow of the game, including how to build your hand and make order out of chaos.
• Practice with Others: Play in a relaxed, friendly environment with fellow beginners, so you can build confidence and enjoy the social side of Mahjong.

This class is perfect for anyone looking to dive into American Mahjong for the first time, and our experienced instructor will be there every step of the way to ensure you feel comfortable and confident by the end of the night. You’ll leave with all the skills you need to start playing Mahjong with friends and family!

Mahjong is played in groups of four however we teach in pairs, at tables of eight, so please specify if you are signing up as a group and would like to be sat with other attendees.
