April Writing Series 2026 with Ellen Rowland
Join us for a month-long writing series with Ellen Rowland this April - Daily writing invitations + weekly poetry sessions on Zoom
Watch your creativity bloom as you nourish your writing through daily poetry prompts during National Poetry Month. This series is designed to expand your poetry practice, get you out of your comfort zone, and challenge you with new forms, poetic styles and craft tips, as well as introduce you to a variety of established and emerging poets.
This writing series is perfect for the poetry curious as well as those with experience.
When: Begins Wednesday, April 1 and ends Thursday, April 30, 2026
How and Where: Daily prompts delivered via email with live Zoom poetry readings and discussion every Saturday from 11 am- 1:00 pm ET
What to expect: Fun, creativity, a sense of accomplishment, community and lots of surprises!
- A new prompt/writing invitation in your inbox every morning for the entire month of April! Thoughtfully curated by Ellen, covering a wide range of themes, mediums, forms and historical periods. Includes prompts, writing tips and meaningful reflections.
- Explore your creativity at any time. Self-paced prompts mean you can challenge yourself to write 30 poems in 30 days, or take as much time as you need. The prompts are yours to keep.
- Come share your work with others in the practice! Every Saturday in April, participants are invited to come together for live poetry readings hosted by Ellen via Zoom. Sessions will be recorded for those who are unable to attend, available exclusively to registered participants.
- Community building, sharing, and feedback on your poems. Join Ellen's private Facebook Group limited to workshop participants, past and present, where you can share your writing and see what other people in the group are working on. You can also explore submission and other poetry opportunities here.
- Structure and accountability. Prompts take the guesswork out or your writing practice. If you choose the 30 day challenge, you'll come away with a substantial body of work you can be proud of, regardless of what stage it's in. You may not come away with 30 fully-formed poems, but will take away the expression of your creativity to come back to and polish over time.
How much does it cost?: Entire series: $30 (including Saturday Zoom sessions)
30 days/30 writing invitations/30 dollars
I offer this series at a low cost once a year so that more people who want to explore poetry have access. If cost is still a barrier, please let me know, as scholarships may be available.
Registration is required. Check out to reserve your spot.
Hope to see you there!
With gratitude,
Ellen
