Can my camper drive themselves?

Yes, campers who hold a valid driver's license can drive themselves. We will call the camper's parent/guardian when they arrive at camp to check in over the phone. We will also call when they leave camp for the day to check out. We do need to talk to an adult to confirm arrival and departure.

Q: Where is the parking entrance?

We’re on the south side of Union Ave across from the main BHSU building. The parking entrance to the COM is on the backside on Eastmoreland, which runs parallel to Union. Enter 1074 Eastmoreland Ave in your GPS to receive driving directions to the parking lot entrance.

Overview

One week camp that is open to all middle and high school students in the Memphis Tri-State area who aspire to a career in health & STEM.

Our STEM summer camp is open to rising 5th through 12th graders interested in health and STEM professions. During the 5-day camp, students will engage in hands-on laboratory experiences, clinical observations, a tour of the university, a tour of a hopsital facility, and other educational events. Lunch and snacks are provided daily.

When & Where: Most activities will be held at Baptist Health Sciences University College of Medicine (COM), 1115 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38`104. Plan to arrive by 8:30 am for registration and daily check-in. Activities will start promptly at 8:30 AM.

Cost: The camp is free to attend. Donations to HealthCORE are always appreciated.

Transportation: Participants are responsible for securing their own rides to and from the participating institution(s).The easiest entrance to the COM is on the backside, on Eastmoreland, which runs parallel to Union. If you enter 1074 Eastmoreland Ave, Memphis into Google Maps, it will bring you right to the back entrance. If you enter the same address into Apple Maps it takes you to the Flight Wing immediately adjacent to the COM.

Expectations: All students must adhere to basic behavioral guidelines. Parents/legal guardians and students must complete and submit camp registration forms and permission slips by the first day of camp.
