Main Speaker: Daniel Cooper | Queens College

Daniel Cooper is Head of Marketing at Queen’s College, Taunton, where he leads brand, marketing, and communications strategy. He is a data-driven marketer who believes in being brave, testing ideas, and cutting through the digital noise. He began his career at Somerset County Cricket Club, where he progressed from graduate to Marketing Manager over seven years, leading award-winning campaigns and developing a strong focus on customer experience and loyalty.

Standing Out: Building a Brand in a Digitally Saturated World
In a crowded digital world, being seen is not enough. You have to be brave enough to be remembered. This talk explores how Queen’s College approached its recent brand work with courage, from researching and selecting the right creative partner to gaining stakeholder trust and making bold decisions that delivered real results. Along the way, we will see just how saturated our digital lives are and why bravery, authenticity, and a willingness to stand out are the keys to making an impact.

Industry Insights: Alex Mercer | Teapot

Omnichannel marketing is like dating - be everywhere, reply fast, and pretend they’re the only one!
For SMEs, growth comes from connection. Your ads, website, email and sales all pulling in the same direction. When it works, the customer journey feels effortless. When it doesn’t, it’s just noise.
In this session, Alex from Teapot shows how to turn scattered activity into a joined-up strategy that drives real results. Less chaos. More clarity. Better brand growth.

Lightening talk: Olivia Richards | Stephens Scown Solicitors

Olivia is a UK-qualified Trade Mark Attorney specialising in helpig businesses and individuals protect, enforce, and unlock the value of their brands. She advises a wide range of companies on brand strategy, trade mark registration, and avoiding common pitfalls that could lead to costly disputes. With practical experience across a number of sectors, Olivia is passionate about raising awareness on the importance of intellectual property protection. She regularly works with businesses across the South West to strengthen and expand their brand protection. In her talk, Olivia will give an introduction to protecting your brand through trade marks - what they are, why they matter, and the mistakes businesses commonly make.
