What should I bring with me?

Please bring water (there is no potable water available on the trail), a snack.  Remember to wear proper footwear and dress appropriately for the weather.

Will the event be postponed in case of inclement weather?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we will postpone the event if the weather dictates. You will be notified by email if the event is postponed. The rain date for this hike is Sunday, April 12.

Question 3

How far will we be walking? Is there any climbing involved?

Accepted Answer

We will be walking about 2.2 miles each way to the quarry on the C&O Canal towpath. Once we reach the site we will cross over the canal in a usually dry spot and then scramble up a steep incline into the quarry itself.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

Each participant will be required to complete a waiver form (linked above, and copies will be available at the beginning of the hike)
