As an American Heart Association BLS Instructor, you will be certified to teach ALL of the following courses:
- BLS Provider
- Heartsaver First Aid & CPR AED
- Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid & CPR AED
COURSE FEE: $50.00
The course fee is due at class. Checks/Money Orders can be made out to Treasurer of Northampton County.
Course Fee includes:
- 8-hour in-person classroom course
- BLS Instructor Candidate Workbook
Students are responsible for purchasing:
- BLS Instructor Essentials online course
- BLS Instructor Manual
- Heartsaver Instructor Manual
- Alignment Fee to align with Tidewater Center for Life Support (TCLS) Norfolk, VA
Course requisites & prerequisites:
- Candidate must be at least 18 years old.
- Candidate must possess a current American Heart Association® BLS Provider certificate
- Have a letter of recommendation from another instructor or Training Officer
- Candidates must attend the 8-hour in-person classroom course.
- Candidates must be monitored teaching their first full course within 6 months of attending the classroom course (there is a monitoring fee).
This is a blended learning course consisting of online content and classroom segments including a skills session. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. IMPORTANT: A VALID EMAIL IS REQUIRED FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION WITH HYPERLINKS TO DO THE ONLINE PORTION OF THE CLASS AND FOR YOUR DIGITAL CERTIFICATION.
Please dress in comfortable clothing as skills are performed on the floor. Special class accommodations are also available upon request.
Upon successful completion of this course and monitoring of your first class, you will receive a digital certificate for Adult CPR/First Aid/AED valid for two years.
