26th San Angelo North American Ceramic Competition

San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts presents the 26th San Angelo North American Ceramic Competition with juror Linda Gastrom and invited artist Marc Leuthold. Join us for a week of workshops, exhibit openings, and events.

This workshop takes place on Thursday, April 16 and Saturday, April 18. <h3>Thursday, April 16</h3>On Thursday from 1 PM to 6 PM, Randy Brodnax will lead participants in throwing thin-walled vessels on the wheel at The Chicken Farm Art Center. <h3>Saturday, April 18</h3>Randy’s Raku setup and glazing will take place from 3–6 PM. After dinner, firing will begin and continue until all vessels are completed. Please note the full Raku process can take several hours, depending on the number of participants. Paid workshop participants receive priority in the firing line. If you did not pre-register, you’re welcome to fire a pot for $15 while supplies last. <h3>Additional Information</h3>Participants are encouraged to bring bisque work to glaze and fire, but bisque pots will also be available to purchase ($5 for registered workshop participants).It is free for non-participants to watch the raku firing on Saturday. Paid workshop participants receive priority in the firing line. If you did not pre-register, you’re welcome to fire a pot for $15 while supplies last.
