March Eye Opener Discovery Breakfast

Overview

Join us as we welcome Dr. Gregory M. Pontone for the March Eye Opener Discovery Breakfast .

Eye Opener Discovery Breakfast

Wednesday | March 11

7:30 AM

UF Hilton | Shula's Private Dining Room

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Greg Pontone, Professor and Chief of Aging, Behavioral, and Cognitive Neurology at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases and the University of Florida. Alzheimer’s disease is the leading cause of dementia worldwide, yet how do we know when forgetting is just a mental hiccup or the beginning of a progressive, incurable disease? Informed by decades of work studying and treating brain diseases in aging populations, Dr. Pontone will tell the story of how new technologies are changing how and when we detect devastating brain diseases like Alzheimer’s. While early detection is a critical first step toward preventing dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions, the current era has brought hope and anxiety in equal measure. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how UF is contributing to this new frontier in brain health.
