Join Us for Llangollen's Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever 2026!
Join us for a joyful, heartfelt celebration of literature, music, community and resilience at The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever in beautiful Llangollen.
This special event is the vision of Moira Gleed, born and bred in Llangollen and a lifelong champion of community life. Over the years Moira has dedicated herself to local organisations and bringing people together. Following a diagnosis of bowel cancer two years ago, which resulted in surgery and a permanent stoma, she went on to establish and continues to run a local stoma support group, offering encouragement and solidarity to others. More recently diagnosed with liver cancer and breast cancer, Moira is currently undergoing palliative chemotherapy. Through it all, her spirit, creativity and love of people remain undimmed.
With a deep love of literature and music, Moira is bringing Llangollen together for a magical day inspired by the iconic song “Wuthering Heights” by Kate Bush, and the classic novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. The event also honours their shared birthdays in July, making it a fitting tribute to two extraordinary women of the arts.
The setting could not be more perfect. We will gather in the grounds of Plas Newydd, the historic home of the Ladies of Llangollen, renowned for hosting travelling poets and writers, including William Wordsworth. A place steeped in literary heritage, it provides a stunning backdrop for a day of creativity and community spirit.
