Sourdough: Bread & Brews
Learn the fundamentals of bread fermentation, explore the differences between wild yeast and brewer’s yeast, take home a loaf to bake.
Get hands-on with the building blocks of fermentation in this intimate sourdough workshop set at Dancing Grain. Participants will learn the fundamentals of bread fermentation, explore the differences between wild yeast and brewer’s yeast, and work with spent grain to understand its role in baking.
From mixing to stretch-and-folds, you’ll create your own sourdough loaf from start to finish while gaining the confidence to continue baking at home. Along the way, you’ll connect fermentation in bread to fermentation in beer — all while enjoying a complimentary beer experience.
This class is designed for beginners and curious bakers alike and is limited to 12 participants to ensure a personalized, hands-on experience.
Each participant will go home with:
- Their own sourdough loaf, mixed and worked during class
- A jar of sourdough starter, fed together during the workshop
- A printed sourdough guide for home reference
- A complete sourdough tool kit (banneton, bench scraper, spatula, lame, and Danish whisk)
- The mixing bowl used during class
Limited spots available — advance registration required.
